CALOUNDRA WEST HOSTING EXCITING NEW SUNSHINE COAST COMMUNITY FORUM

• First Sunshine Coast Community Forum taking place today
• Forum members are residents from across the region
• Opportunity to discuss priorities for positive community outcomes

Economic development opportunities, education priorities, and establishing an action plan are on the agenda at the inaugural Queensland Government Sunshine Coast Community Forum at Caloundra West today.

The Forum members are Sunshine Coast residents from a range of backgrounds, selected through a public expression of interest process, to participate in a series of Forums to 2025. Forum members will work to establish an action plan alongside the Queensland Government to develop initiatives and provide advice to improve the Sunshine Coast lifestyle.

The Minister for Education, Minister for Industrial Relations and Minister for Racing, the Hon Grace Grace MP is attending.

The Forum will be co-chaired by the State Member for Caloundra Jason Hunt MP and the State Member for Nicklin Rob Skelton MP.

The first Forum will include discussions on the Sunshine Coast challenges and opportunities, and the strategic economic development and education priorities and projects for the region.

There will be presentations by Economic Development Queensland and the Department of Education.

• The new Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast Community Forums have been established following the success of the Regional Community Forums which have been held across seven Queensland regions since 2019.
