SAFER SPEEDS AT EUDLO
8th July 2022
The speed limit through the Eudlo business centre on Palmwoods–Mooloolah Road will be lowered next week to improve safety.
Member for Nicklin, Rob Skelton, said the speed limit along about 500 metres, between Eudlo State School and Olsen Mill Park, would be reduced from 60km/h to 50km/h.
“We’ve listened to the community and Transport and Main Roads (TMR) undertook a speed limit review on Palmwoods–Mooloolah Road through Eudlo,” Mr Skelton said.
"The review recommended reducing the speed limit and this was endorsed by the Speed Management Committee, which includes representatives from the Queensland Police Service, Sunshine Coast Council and TMR.
"The review process considers a range of factors such as road function, roadside environment, road construction standards, prevailing traffic speeds and crash history."
Mr Skelton said work to implement the new speed limit, including replacing signs, would start on Monday (11 July) and was expected to take a day to complete, weather and conditions permitting.
“I urge all motorists to observe the new speed limit and always drive to conditions," he said.
