CONSTRUCTION OFFICIALLY STARTS ON NEW LEARNING CENTRE AT YANDINA STATE SCHOOL

• New learning centre to be built at Yandina State School
• The two-storey building will include six learning areas and a new administration area
• This $19.6 million building investment includes other significant upgrades that cater for school growth

Member for Nicklin, Rob Skelton MP today visited Yandina State School as the construction of a brand new two-storey learning centre has commenced.

The $19.6 million (including GST) project will include a two-storey learning centre featuring six learning areas, administration facilities, office spaces, visiting specialist rooms, a staffroom, meeting and conference rooms, an outdoor learning area, an undercroft, amenities and a lift.

The school’s tennis court and maintenance shed will also be replaced as part of the project, along with the construction of a new car park with additional spaces.

Yandina State School will also benefit from a series of technical upgrades such as a new fire booster cabinet and pump with dedicated fire hydrant service, a new pad mount transformer, ICT upgrades and an improved security system.

With construction officially started, the new learning centre is forecast for completion during Term 2, 2024.
